Thank you to all the riders participating in The Aviva Investors Around the Bay in a Day® - Get Sponsored for The Smith Family. Over 16,300 riders took up the challenge of riding in Australia's premier mass participation bike ride.
Riders, you still have the opportunity to go the extra mile and raise money for official charity partner The Smith Family. Last year these riders raised a record figure of over $500,000 for The Smith Family.
At the conclusion of the ride, thousands of riders entered the fantastic Alexandra Gardens start/finish site where live music, entertainment, roving entertainers, corporate hospitality, food and beverage facilities, and sponsor displays and giveaways provided a fantastic end to a great ride.
The Aviva Investors Around the Bay in a Day® and GO Bike Expo - Sponsored by Honan Insurance Brokers will again be the cornerstones of the Melbourne Cycling Festival in 2009, with Victoria’s two iconic cycling events coming together to create a major weekend of cycling-centric activity in Melbourne. The GO Bike Expo will be a free activity showcasing all aspects of the cycling world.
